A pair of shoes begins long before it reaches a shop window. Design, cutting, stitching, and finishing each offer a way into the story of shoemaking in Marikina.
This planned workshop visit will follow a maker’s process and ask what it takes to sustain the craft today. The finished piece will name the workshop and document its methods, without assuming every maker works in the same way.
