Misamis Oriental: Between Coast and Green Interior
Marine scenery, waterfalls and town landmarks reveal the province’s variety.
Misamis Oriental stretches along northern Mindanao’s coast, with towns looking toward the sea and roads leading inland toward greener, higher ground. This combination gives the province more than one natural setting to explore.
Places such as Punta Diwata in Medina and the Sipaka area of Talisayan are associated with coastal scenery. Inland, Sagpulon Falls in Jasaan offers a different view, where falling water and surrounding vegetation replace the open horizon of the shore.
Jasaan also has an important church landmark, bringing built heritage into the same journey. Moving between a town center, a coastal stop and an inland waterfall reveals a province whose attractions are connected by everyday communities, rather than isolated from them.
