Rice fields are among the defining images of Nueva Ecija. Across much of the province, the agricultural calendar shapes work and the appearance of the landscape, from newly prepared paddies to fields ready for harvest.
This is also a province of growing towns and cities. Markets, roads and businesses connect farming communities with a wider economy, making provincial life more varied than the familiar image of an untouched countryside suggests.
