Parks, gardens and familiar city landmarks give Baguio its enduring place in Filipino holiday memories.
Baguio’s cool highland setting has long made it a favorite escape from the lowlands. Yet much of its charm comes from ordinary city rituals: walking beside a lake, browsing a market or pausing in a garden between busy streets.
Burnham Park remains one of the city’s familiar gathering places, with its lake at the center of a landscape used by residents and visitors alike. The Botanical Garden offers another green stop, while Camp John Hay carries traces of a different chapter in the city’s history.
Along Kennon Road, the Lion’s Head has become a recognizable arrival photograph. These landmarks are part of Baguio’s appeal, but so are the smaller moments between them—the mountain air, a shared meal and the unhurried walk that becomes a holiday memory.
