Laguna: Waterfalls, Springs and Familiar Flavors

Laguna has long been associated with outings from Metro Manila: a family visit, a stop for local delicacies or a day spent near water. Its towns combine these familiar pleasures with important historical connections.

Calamba is the birthplace of José Rizal, while the province’s waterfalls and hot-spring areas offer a different kind of destination. Pagsanjan Falls, also known as Cavinti Falls, is physically located in Cavinti, although river trips associated with Pagsanjan helped make its name widely known.

Food is part of the memory of many visits. Espasol, a rice-flour delicacy dusted with toasted rice flour, is among the sweets linked with Laguna. These small traditions, alongside its scenery and history, help explain why the province remains a familiar choice for a short escape.
