Northern Samar: Where Rock Meets the Sea

Northern Samar’s coastal scenery includes some of the country’s most striking rock formations. On Biri, layers of stone rise against the water in shapes that make the shoreline feel almost architectural.

Formations such as Bel-at and Magasang reveal different textures and profiles as the light changes. The landscape is a product of natural processes, with the sea remaining an active presence rather than simply a background to a photograph.

Elsewhere in the province, Sila Island is associated with a beach whose sand has a pinkish appearance. Together, these places show the variety of Northern Samar’s coast. Rock, sand and water create different settings, while the communities between them remain an essential part of the journey.
